Clean & Care
My best advice for you is...
Consider the type of adventure you want to embark on and select pieces that you can wear safely.
For instance, I recommend removing all of your rings before rock climbing so they do not get caught on holds and cause injuries. Instead, opt for earrings or a short necklace.
Keep in mind that water will damage stones when submerged for long periods of time. Especially porous stones like turquoise. So next time you go swimming, switch to pieces that are all metal without stones.
Lastly, I highly advise storing your jewelry in a dry, cool environment & never clean them with harsh chemicals.
How to Clean your Metals...
.925 SILVER: Use a polishing cloth to rub off any unwanted oxidation, then lightly clean with an old toothbrush, mild soap, warm water & pat dry with a soft towel.
14K GOLD FILL: Has a thick layer of 14k gold permanently bonded to a base metal. Clean it with a soft cloth to remove oils, makeup, and other buildup. Avoid excessive rubbing.
BRASS & COPPER: These metals will oxidize more quickly than silver. To clean, apply either the silver method or an extra fine Scotch Brite pad for a matte finish, if desired.
How to Care for your Stones...
TURQUOISE: This is a porous stone, so it's best to avoid being in water for long periods of time, which could cause the stone to crack or change color.
FIRE OPALS: These are hydrophane stones, meaning they can absorb water and oils, which can dull the vibrant “fire.” Avoid getting them wet or exposing them to extreme heat.
JASPER & AGATE: Both are durable stones, but can still be scratched or damaged by harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures. They are generally safe to get wet because they are hard, non-porous stones.
MOONSTONE: Relatively delicate and soft gemstone. It can easily be scratched or chipped and is somewhat sensitive to water. Avoid hot or soapy water to prevent dulling.
